Camella
Camella
It is the oldest documented Lombard county in ancient Cilento. Every year, during the patronal feast in honor of Saint Nazarius, the traditional “Flight of the Angel” takes place: a child chosen from among the villagers is suspended on a steel cable stretched between two balconies, symbolizing an angel descending to Camella to entrust the protection of the small Cilentan village to Saint Nazarius.
At the entrance to the village, you can admire the ancient public fountain bearing the coat of arms of the Altomare family, along with a partially legible inscription dating back to 1536.
